Ming Shu means Chinese astrology, and fleur rare means rare flowers. Ming Shu Fleur Rare is a spin off of the original Ming Shu perfume, a Chinese inspired floriental. This perfume was released in 1997 by the prolific perfumer Yves Rocher, and is now discontinued.

The light blue bottle has an asian feel, with an inverted base in which sits a delicately carved effect flower in the glass. The box is baby blue with a white waterlily drawing, and Chinese style font.

ming shu fleur rare by yves rocher perfume review

Opening notes: Peach, apple and waterlily.

Middle notes: Jasmine, rose and lily-of-the-valley.

Base notes: Cedar, sandalwood and musk.

This is very similar to the wonderful Laguna by Salvador Dali. It sits close the skin, giving out a warm, soft woody musk that feels heady and fabulous. It is more romantic than sexy, being fresher than the average oriental.

Suited to: Summer days, especially the beach and outdoor walks.

Rating: I give this a silver medal for well recommended.

Price: Can still be found for a reasonable price on the secondary market.
