Peony Blossom is a fruity floral that was launched in 2014. The advertising featured a glamorous model in black lingerie, telling us that this peony blossom is not innocent, but sensual, an attractant, and it can make us beautiful all over.
The bottle is a soft light gold color, angled like an art nouveau work of art. It is topped with a golden lid.
Opening notes: Blackcurrant, pear, orange blossom, and white peach.
Middle notes: Violet, peony, and jasmine.
Base notes: Musk, patchouli, and vanilla.
An overly sweet opening purely because of the pear note, pear is hard to get right, a drop too much and it is cloying. Once the peony comes through it is like a shower of powdery snowflakes, and a true softness is created. However, overall it doesn’t have anything really special, and it remains mediocre compared with other fragrances within the same price group.
Occasions: Wear a little for informal occasions.
Rating: Bronze medal.
