This Avon release from 1960 should not be confused with a later Revlon perfume of the same name. The Avon version was discontinued in the late 1980s.

This catalog page from the 60s show the original product range. It reads:

“An enchanted fragrance that creates golden, timeless memories. Deep, rich tones of moss and fern blend in perfect harmony with the freshness of summer flowers”.

unforgettable perfume by avon review

The numerous Unforgettable toiletries in coral pink and gold have a quaint vintage look. The octagonal lid and fine collar remind me of late 19th century french perfume bottles.

This novelty bottle of Unforgettable was called Looking Glass, which could actually be used as a mirror. It has the ornately patterned pink and gold box which all of the range came in.

Opening notes: Fern, orange and carnation.

Middle notes: Labdanum and orris root.

Base notes: Leather, patchouli and oakmoss.

This has the feel of a modern cologne, masculine overtones dominate at first. It dries down to be unisex with a soft, oriental sweetness and warm powder touch. It’s fragrance is in strong contrast to the highly feminine packaging, and a pleasant surprise with it.

Suited to: Evening events, nights out with friends or lovers.

Rating: I give this a bronze medal.

Price: This is not too hard to find on eBay and etsy.

Who would wear this? Modern men.
